At the Fête champêtre 2008, the Fondation Armand-Frappier announced its 2007-2008 fundraising results, which amounted to $1,195,000 going to research at the INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier.
The 2008 edition of the Fondation Armand-Frappier’s Fête Champêtre, held last June 19th, has known remarkable success. Many important people from both scientific and business fields gathered together in a magnificent setting on the banks of the Des Prairies River on the INRS-Institut Armand Frappier campus in Laval for this increasingly popular lavish event. Mr. Richard Côté and Mtre Louis Bernier co-presided this 15th fête champêtre.

In the usual order:
- Teasurer of the Fondation Armand Frappier, Mr Daniel Hudon, president of Intelcom Courrier
- President and chief executive officer of the Fondation Armand-Frappier, Mr. Clément Joly, associate-counsel Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton
- The honorary co-president Mtre Louis Bernier, Chairman of the Board at Fasken Martineau Dumoulin
- The honorary co-president Mr Richard Côté, Vice President of the Corporate Finance Division, BMO Bank of Montreal
- Co-presidents of the organization committee, Mr Daniel Pratt, Vice President of industries, sciences and technologies division of the RBC Royal Bank of Canada and
- Mtre Louis-François Hogue, partner at Fasken Martineau Dumoulin
Many individuals as well as foundations and businesses from several fields have contributed to the overwhelming success of the Fête champêtre. They did so by creating scholarships in their names to reward either talented post-doctoral fellows or promising young researchers who are at the master or doctorate levels. Forty scholarships for academic excellence were awarded this year.
Our scholarship partners include Axcan Pharma, BMO Bank of Montreal, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin and Algorithme Pharma who chose to create research scholarships in their name.
Warm, original and inviting, the annual Fête champêtre truly is a celebration of health research. The enchanting site and distinctive atmosphere that prevails make it a must for the decision makers of the biotechnology field. This fairy-tale event is an ideal venue not only for networking but also the occasion to attribute the Fondation Armand-Frappier awards. The 2008 laureates are Pfizer Canada (Prix Santé), Genome Québec (Prix Innovation) and Photon etc. (Prix Émergence)
