President and CEO
Génome Québec
Génome Québec’s mission is to strengthen the genomics innovation system in Québec. Since its creation in 2001, more than $400 million dollars has been committed, helping to accelerate the discovery of new applications, such as screening tests and therapeutic tools in healthcare, as well as new pro-environment processes in agriculture and forestry.
Génome Québec has taken a leadership role in genomics due, among other things, to the creation of three specialized technological centers of international calibre, the implementation of the PRIVAC competition, an initiative aimed at promoting mixed collaborations between the academic and private sectors, and the creation of the P3G (Public Population Project in Genomics) International Consortium. Thanks to solid strategic alliances and partnerships, Génome Québec continues to play a structural role by reinforcing the links between scientists from the private and academic sectors.
